5th National Convention and Exposition, 11th - 13th March, 2005 at India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi

 
Present Scenario
  Shelter is a basic need of every human being for dignified living. In India, this privilege is not available to all. Estimated shortage of dwelling units, as per 10th Five Year Plan, was 22.4 million.In coming 15-20 years, 80-90 million housing units will have to be constructed, and majority, out of this, would be for low income group.Housing and real estate industry has significant linkages with other sectors of economy and over 250 associated industries.A unit increase in expenditure in this sector has the capacity to generate income as high as five times.  
  From the above, it would be seen that there is a pressing demand to meet the social obligation of "housing for all" provides an opportunity to boost real estate investment that has the potential for rapid growth of Indian economy  
Convention
  Public and private sectors forming an integral part of NAREDCO have been involved in presenting the housing and construction scenario in the country. This convention being held on 11th March, 2005 at India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi shall define the road map for free growth of housing and real estate sector to meet the aspiration of millions, especially poor and deprived.

Objectives
  • To implement the code of ethics for all involved in real estate business
  • To rate developers and their projects through a rating mechanism developed by ICRA and CRISIL, in accordance with NAREDCO-NHB guidelines
  • To encourage and assist in the establishment of state bodies (REDCO's)in various part of the country
  • To formulate, prepare and evolve a mechanism by which to maintain standards in all matters connected with real estate development.
  • To commission research oriented studies to strengthen existing legislation and initiate new legislation for more effective real estate development
